FAQs

Do you accept dental insurance?

Although I do not bill services to your insurance, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Payment is due at time of service. I cannot guarantee insurance reimbursement of any treatments and recommend you check with your insurance before appointments to have an idea of what they can reimburse for you. Think of your dental insurance as a “rebate coupon”.

I aim to keep my services within a reasonable amount for the quality care provided to ensure a personalized experience. It is important I have the opportunity with each patient to establish a care plan that best supports your oral wellness. I am currently a solo entity of Seaside Dental Hygiene Studio. By eliminating the ties with insurance companies, I am able to have a direct relationship with you, the patient, without these companies dictating what we can and cannot do.

Do I have to see a dentist?

I have a well-established relationship with local dentists in the Midcoast area. I will provide a referral to them for any treatment recommendations if you do not already have a dentist. It is recommended all patients see a dentist annually for a thorough exam. Although it is not within my scope as an IPDH to diagnose cavities or certain pathologies, I can recognize suspicious areas to be evaluated by a licensed dentist.

Do you have fluoride-free options?

Yes! I am happy to offer both fluoride and hydroxyapatite varnish options! The polishing paste and air polishing powder I use to clean teeth are both fluoride free.

I have never had a dental cleaning. Is that okay?

Of course! I actually get excited about making someone’s first dental experience a great one. The first step is making your appointment, and then showing up. I will guide you through the process and ensure you feel comfortable at each step. The best time to try something new is now. Taking this step goes beyond a “cleaning”, you are making your own needs a priority. We all deserve to be taken care of! I am happy to be apart of that for you.

Do you see children?

Yes! I recommend bringing your littles as early as 6 months to get them comfortable with the dental setting and foster a positive experience for them. This is a great opportunity for the parent/guardian to learn about nutrition, airway, and developmental expectations. I am here to help counsel you through these first stages of life so your child is set up for a healthy start.

“Happy Visits” are set up ages 3 + under and is child-led. This is a time for one-on-one counseling with you, the parent/guardian, about the mentioned above.

By age 4, your child should be ready to have routine cleanings and assessments. If their cooperation is not there yet, that is okay! I have fantastic pediatric dental referral sources that are set up to meet your child where they are until they are ready to return to Seaside Dental Hygiene Studio.

Please note: My office is located in a building with other wellness practitioners. I ask children are not brought to adult appointments to ensure other provider’s clients have an uninterrupted experience. I understand unforeseen circumstances can come up and ask you please contact me prior to your appointment to see if it is best to reschedule. I want to ensure you also have an uninterrupted experience so we have the time to accomplish everything you need and the time you are investing in.

Where do I park? Where do I enter? Are you wheelchair accessible?

The Midcoast Health Collective building I am located in has reserved parking for clients only. There are 3 spaces located in front of the building and 3 spaces located to the left on Granite Street. Unfortunately, there is no reserved handicap parking.

Entrance is to the right of the building. Upon entering, take a left into the reception area, make yourself comfortable, and I will be with you shortly.

Yes, there is a wheelchair ramp to the right of the building that has the same entrance.
